My security engineer is getting the following error. "error: Network error 05: QG SSL cert validation failed." Qualys appliance fails to connect during the negotiation.We are not performing any SSL decryption. Anyone experience or have this issue?
According to Scanner Appliance Troubleshooting and FAQs , it should be a DNS issue. Check that you have configured a DNS server which is resolving into IPs the qualys.com FQDNs which appliance is using for its own set up.
Thanks for the reply. My security engineer reinstalled the latest VM version and it seems to fix the problem.
If the appliance was shut down for quite some time, I suggest bringing up another virtual scanner.
We recently have this issue and, after checking DNS settings, firewall rules and other networking issues, we noticed that we were trying to use an old qVSA.i386-2.1.22-4.ova file.
As soon as we tried with newer qVSA.i386-2.2.27-1.ova, it worked like a charm.
