QID Discovery Method and Authentication Question

My question is in regards to the below help section from knowledgebase. I have also pasted a snip of a QID info. If the QID states Authentication:Windows, does this mean that only windows authentication can detect this vulnerability? So, if you run an authenticated Unix scan and the system is vulnerable to the CVE's listed in the QID, then Qualys will not be able to detect it because its not a windows authenticated scan?

Knowledgebase Help Article

Check out the discovery method for the vulnerability which will indicate whether authentication is required. You'll also see a key next to Authentication when authenticated scanning can be used. Not sure how to get started with authentication? Go here  to find out.
