CID Updates affects customized settings

One of my customers recently spotted that our CID update changed their customized settings in one of the controls in their policy. When our update to CID would affect to user's current policy settings, is there any way for the users to enable the changes manually?

The example was CID1159 in AIX, the customized setting is to give a PASS when Setting Not Found. However, they realized that Qualys has updated this CID and it had been auto-updated and their existing setting was replaced with the updated setting from Qualys (where Setting Not Found is not selected).
