Is there a way to get a report where it shows the counts of all of the categories? Or, is there a way to get the category column included on the CSV report
Mr. Turan Phan,
I've never tried this before but, you might be able to use an Excel "VLOOKUP" function to compare a CSV (transformed into XLS through the text to columns button) to the downloaded Qualys Knowledbase.
After the comparation, you would be able to count the categories and some other vulnerability carachteristics,
Note: You must require the knowledge base download through a ticket to firstname.lastname@example.org.
I hope I have helped!
So the answer is “no” qualys doesn’t do it
You might want to do something else:
- Create a search lists based on vulnerability categories. You must creat a search list for each category, that is going to take time)
- Create a report template that shows only vulnerabilities that belong to that category
- Run a scan report (sorted by host) using that template.
This will give you the numbers, however it is not yet what you wanted...
Again, you may want to download the reports in CSV format and use Vlookup plus Pivot Tables to deal with the data.
Thank you for your kind quick responds. In the CSV format, there is now column for Categories (Web Server, CGI, TCP/IP, and General Remote Services) unless it name differently or I miss it.
My goal or intention is when I generate a trending report, there is a section in the report that list the top 5 biggest Categories and I want to know if there's a report that can generate those individual category and let me know the count of each confirmed is. Hope that make sense, again thank you
I advise you to make a feature request to Qualys.
I'd be glad if you could mark my answer as Helpful or Correct.
