Similar to the way the widget for vulnerability trends can track and display vulnerability trends for the query inputted, is there a way to look at one particular asset and see something similar?
Is this pertaining to widgets on the new VM dashboard?
Widgets or anything at all that could give me this information
When you're building a widget on the new VM dashboard, you could qualify it with an asset identifier like asset id, or IP address. Like this:
That way it'll only be focussing on a specific asset.
Does that help?
No, I don't think I am articulating my question well enough. Basically, it would be great to have a way to check on vulnerability trends for particular assets (without having to create individual widgets for each and every asset). For instance, we have a widget that is tracking the trends for all of our assets in a particular subnet, but if we try to "test and preview" a change to the query within that widget to one particular asset, it would not give us what we want to see. Does that make sense or should I try to further clarify?
but this won't give historical data if you use a widget.
I think what you want is a scan report, over time, with trending, and then restricted to Targets/Assets you want to watch. This will give you historical data.
This will give you data and graphs like this:
So while you can't have it easily in a dashboard and change the targets to get a "live" historical trend, you can create one template and keep changing the Targets/Assets then schedule the report. The Report Summary (not shown) will tell you all of the data about how many assets are included (and dates, etc.).
There are many ways to trend data inside/outside the UI and via 3rd party integrations with the API, I've linked my personal go-to links below that might help you:
