What are the possible entries for "Vuln Status" and what do they mean?

I see "Active," "Fixed," "New," and "Re-Opened" and I'm curious what each term really means.

Active: I assume it means it's being worked on, but by whom?

Fixed:  Has it been mitigated by a patch that has been added?  Or does it mean a fix is available?

New:  New to whom?  In my network?  Newly reported?  Discovered recently?  Since when?

Re-Opened:  Does this mean that a previous patch didn't work?

Are there any others?

I'm trying to determine whether this is a field worth even reporting.  RTFM is an acceptable answer, but I'd like to know which fine manual to read.
