I'm just looking for confirmation of whether or not IE 8-10 on Windows 7 supports TLS 1.2. I've been doing some testing and I see that out of the box Windows 7 with IE 8 is unable to reach TLS 1.2 based websites that utilize most strong cipher suites. After updating to the latest set of patches, however, I was able to reach TLS 1.2 websites and the SSL Client Test passes successfully. However, when reviewing the User Agent Capabilities and any SSL labs scan of a website it always shows Windows 7 IE 8-10 as unsupported. Is this done intentionally because older unpatched versions are unable to reach these websites (or am I crazy). Ultimately I'm looking to verify confirmation that IE 8-10 on Windows 7 does actually support TLS 1.2 so that I can scan multiple sites to ensure they will function with some of the more legacy browsers so I can ban TLS 1.0 without fear of repercussions :-) .
