One of our administrators is reporting a server that crashes during Qualys VM scanning. It is running Windows Server 2008 R2 Standard 64 bit Edition Service Pack 1, and this particular server only has 1GB of physical RAM.
I have reduced the number of concurrent processes in the option profile to 2. This prevents a crash, but the admins are still concerned about memory utilisation.
They report that during a scan the process CmRcService.exe (the Remote Control part of Microsoft SCCM2012) uses about 2.8GB of memory. The system recovers afterwards, but it leaves little margin for error. Given that we will be scanning more servers with the same spec in the near future, I was wondering if anyone has any suggestions on how to exclude certain tests to avoid this problem, or any other useful suggestions.
