I'm pleased to announce that WAS Engine 7.0 has been released to all Qualys shared platforms. This new version adds support for TLS 1.3. A huge amount of testing went into this release, mainly because a critical library in the scan engine was upgraded to enable support for TLS 1.3. This was a necessary step because it's only matter of time before web applications and APIs drop support for TLS 1.1 and even TLS 1.2 eventually. TLS 1.3 has many advantages including being faster and more secure. The major browsers already support TLS 1.3 as well.
Another nice feature added in 7.0 is that full HTTP requests for detections are provided. Having the full, raw request made by the scanner has been a much-requested feature from our Qualys WAS customer base and will help with reproducing the issue in many cases. Once you can reproduce an issue, it's easier to test and confirm that it's fixed. That is the end goal of course.
If you encounter any problems in your WAS scans, please open a support ticket by selecting Help--Contact Support while logged into the platform. Feel free to post a question here on the Qualys Community site as well.
