You might not know you can configure scheduled scans to runs continuously - as soon as one scan instance finishes a new scan is launched. To get started the Continuous Scanning feature must be enabled for your account. Don't have this feature? Just contact your Account Manager or our Support team and we'll help you with this quickly.

Warning Keep in mind that each active scan counts towards the concurrent scans limit set for the subscription. Any scan may have impact to your network and the same impact could occur repeatedly, until the schedule is deactivated, canceled or paused.

Step 1: Set Up Scheduled Scans

(Manager primary contact account is required) Go to Scans > Setup > Scheduled Scans.

In the Scheduled Scans Setup window select “Relaunch Scan on Finish”.

I don't see the "Relaunch Scan on Finish" option. How come?

Either you are not the Manager primary contact or your subscription does not have New Scanner Services enabled.

How do I know who the Manager primary contact is?

Go to Users > Users to see the list of users in the subscription. The Manager user with an asterisk (*) next to his name is the primary contact for the subscription.

New Scanner Services must be enabled

Go to Help > Account Info > General Information to see whether your subscription has been configured (enabled) for New Scanner Services.

Step 2: Configure a Scheduled Scan to Relaunch on Finish

Any user with scanning permissions has the ability to configure a schedule to perform continuous scanning. Go to Scans > Schedules and start a new schedule from the New menu. The Scheduling section is where you specify when and how often you want the scan to run. In this section, select "Relaunch on Finish" from the Occurs menu to perform continuous scanning.

A sample scheduled vulnerability scan with "Relaunch on Finish" selected is shown below.

You'll notice that you can also choose to deactivate the schedule after a number of scan instances reports errors. By default the service will deactivate the schedule the first time a scan error is reported. You can change this by choosing to deactivate it after more scans have errors.

I don't see the "Relaunch on Finish" option in the Occurs drop-down. How come?

This means the continuous scanning feature has not been enabled for your subscription. See Step 1 to learn how to enable this feature.
